Product Overview
The KOZO ASTM B381 F2 Titanium Forged Ball Valve is intended for corrosive chemical, seawater and process applications where low density, high specific strength and titanium’s corrosion resistance are required. The product family covers forged titanium ball valve configurations in multiple pressure classes with flanged or welded end options and seat systems selected for the actual process conditions.
The reference material is ASTM B381 F2, commonly associated with commercially pure Grade 2 titanium. Final valve performance depends on the complete material combination, including ball, stem, seats, packing, bolting and actuator arrangement.
Why Titanium Grade 2?
Grade 2 titanium is widely used in chemical processing, marine and chloride-containing environments because of the stable passive oxide film that provides corrosion resistance in many oxidizing services. It is also significantly lighter than steel, which can reduce installed weight in certain systems.
Titanium is not universally suitable for every chemical or reducing environment. Fluid composition, concentration, sıcaklık, pressure and possible galvanic interaction with other metals should be reviewed before final material selection.
Key Design Features
- Forged titanium construction: Reference body material ASTM B381 F2 / Grade 2 titanium.
- Quarter-turn ball valve operation: Compact shut-off design with low operating travel.
- Connection flexibility: Flanged or butt-weld configurations can be considered according to the project.
- Seat selection: Soft or metal seats can be specified according to operating temperature, pressure and medium.
- Automation options: Manuel, pneumatic or electric actuation can be reviewed to suit the required control philosophy.

Material Selection Notes
For titanium valves, the body material should not be considered in isolation. Stem, top, seat insert, packing, gasket and bolting materials must be selected as a compatible system. Titanium can also be susceptible to galvanic effects when coupled with dissimilar metals in conductive fluids, so the complete piping arrangement should be reviewed.
Available Configurations
The 1/2 in–8 in Class 150/300/600 range is a reference family. Alternative connection styles, seats, trims and actuation packages can be reviewed according to the project requirement.
How to Specify This Valve
Please provide size, pressure class, process medium, concentration, design temperature, body/trim material requirement, seat material, connection type, actuation method and applicable standards.
FAQ
Is Grade 2 titanium suitable for seawater?
Grade 2 titanium is widely used in seawater and chloride-containing systems, but final suitability should still be reviewed against temperature, velocity, water chemistry and the complete valve construction.
Can a titanium valve use PTFE or PEEK seats?
Depending on pressure and temperature, different polymer or metal-seat systems may be selected. Seat material should be chosen according to the complete service envelope rather than body material alone.
Can KOZO supply an actuated titanium ball valve?
Evet. Pneumatic and electric actuator packages can be evaluated according to valve torque, available utilities, fail-position requirements and control philosophy.
