The KOZO ASTM B381 F2 Titanium Forged Ball Valve is intended for corrosive chemical, seawater and process applications where low density, high specific strength and titanium’s corrosion resistance are required. The product family covers forged titanium ball valve configurations in multiple pressure classes with flanged or welded end options and seat systems selected for the actual process conditions.
The reference material is ASTM B381 F2, commonly associated with commercially pure Grade 2 titanium. Final valve performance depends on the complete material combination, including ball, stam, seats, packing, bolting and actuator arrangement.
Why Titanium Grade 2?
Grade 2 titanium is widely used in chemical processing, marine and chloride-containing environments because of the stable passive oxide film that provides corrosion resistance in many oxidizing services. It is also significantly lighter than steel, which can reduce installed weight in certain systems.
Titanium is not universally suitable for every chemical or reducing environment. Fluid composition, concentration, temperatur, pressure and possible galvanic interaction with other metals should be reviewed before final material selection.

Material Selection Notes
For titanium valves, the body material should not be considered in isolation. Stem, ball, seat insert, packing, gasket and bolting materials must be selected as a compatible system. Titanium can also be susceptible to galvanic effects when coupled with dissimilar metals in conductive fluids, so the complete piping arrangement should be reviewed.

Is Grade 2 titanium suitable for seawater?
Grade 2 titanium is widely used in seawater and chloride-containing systems, but final suitability should still be reviewed against temperature, velocity, water chemistry and the complete valve construction.
Can a titanium valve use PTFE or PEEK seats?
Depending on pressure and temperature, different polymer or metal-seat systems may be selected. Seat material should be chosen according to the complete service envelope rather than body material alone.
Can KOZO supply an actuated titanium ball valve?
