Product Overview
The KOZO Monel 400 Forged Floating Ball Valve is designed for marine, seawater and corrosive process services where a nickel-copper alloy is specified. The reference product family uses UNS N04400 / Monel 400 pressure-containing components with a floating-ball structure and Monel K500 stem options.
The floating-ball design provides compact quarter-turn isolation and is suitable for small- and medium-bore applications. Seat materials and end connections should be selected according to pressure, température, media and project piping requirements.
Why Monel 400?
Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy widely used in marine and chemical environments. It offers useful corrosion resistance in many seawater and process applications, but actual performance depends on flow conditions, température, aeration and the possibility of crevice or stagnant-water corrosion. The full valve metallurgy should therefore be reviewed for the real service conditions.
Key Design Features
- Forged Monel 400 body: Reference UNS N04400 construction for marine and compatible corrosive service.
- Floating-ball design: Compact quarter-turn isolation arrangement.
- Monel K500 stem option: Higher-strength nickel-copper alloy option for stem service.
- Multiple end connections: RF, RTJ and butt-weld options can be reviewed according to project requirements.
- Seat options: Reinforced PTFE, PPL or metal-seat systems can be considered according to operating conditions.

Selection Notes
Monel 400 should not be described as universally immune to seawater corrosion. Stagnant conditions, crevices, température, deposits and galvanic coupling can affect performance. Material selection should consider the complete piping environment and the full valve material list.
Available Configurations
Pressure class, connection type, seat system, trim metallurgy and actuation can be selected according to the project. For critical marine or offshore service, material certification, inspection and testing requirements should be stated during inquiry.
How to Specify This Valve
Please provide size, pressure class, medium, design pressure, design temperature, connection type, seat material, actuation, applicable standards and quantity.
FAQ
Is Monel 400 suitable for seawater?
It is widely used in marine and seawater service, but final suitability depends on actual operating conditions including flow, température, oxygen level and stagnation.
Why use a Monel K500 stem?
K500 offers higher strength than Monel 400 while retaining useful nickel-copper corrosion characteristics, making it a common stem option in demanding marine service.
Can the valve be supplied with RTJ or butt-weld ends?
Oui, depending on pressure class and design. RF, RTJ and butt-weld configurations can be reviewed to suit the piping specification.
