What is an eccentric semi-ball valve and what working conditions are it suitable for?

1. The use of eccentric hemisphere valve

The metal hard seal eccentric ball valve produced by kozo valve is a 90° angle stroke valve. It absorbs the advantages of butterfly valves and ball valves, and has the advantages of large circulation capacity, strong adaptability to medium, high temperature resistance, and rapid opening and closing. It is widely used in various pipelines in metallurgy, electricity, chemical industry, environmental protection and other industries. The valve is mainly used as an opening and closing equipment.

This valve is not only suitable for water and gas media, but also for two-phase flow media such as sewage, slag water, dust, and coal powder.

2. Main performance parameters of eccentric hemisphere valve

Nominal pressure: 1.0~2.5Mpa;

Nominal size: DN50~DN1200(mm);

Test: Housing strength test: 1.5 times the maximum allowable working pressure at 38°C (liquid);

High pressure sealing test: 1.1 times the maximum allowable working pressure at 38°C (liquid);

Low-pressure air seal test: 0.6Mpa;

Use temperature: ≤300℃;

Applicable media: water or sewage, slag water, dust, coal powder, oil products, steam, etc.

Eccentric hemisphere valves are divided into one-way sealing type and two-way sealing type, and their structure and principles are the same. If there are no special requirements in the contract, they are supplied in one-way seal.

4. Product features of eccentric hemisphere valve

(1) The sealing pair is designed with eccentric rotation of the spherical valve disc and valve disc

The valve sealing pair adopts a spherical design and has a good sealing effect. At the same time, the valve disc rotation center is designed to have an eccentricity with the center of the valve seat. Therefore, when the valve disc is closed, the eccentric cam wedge tightening effect is formed. The valve closes tighter and tighter. Compensation can be achieved after wear on the valve sealing surface after the medium is washed for a long time. The cam effect also enables the valve to be sealed in two directions (Figure 1 left).

In addition, due to the cam effect when the valve disc moves, the valve disc spherical surface and the valve seat are quickly separated and fitted when opening and closing, so that the friction between the sealing pair is almost “zero”, which greatly improves the service life of the valve and reduces the opening and closing torque.

(2) Valves are resistant to flushing and have strong flow capacity

After the valve is fully opened, the valve disc is “hidden” on the side of the valve cavity, reducing media erosion, while also increasing flow rate and reducing flow resistance.

(3) Choose special materials, long service life

The sealing pair is made of special cemented carbide surfacing and special processes. It has high surface hardness, high conformity, wear-resistant and erosion-resistant, good sealing and long service life.

For slag flushing, ash unloading, coal spraying, and material discharge systems in metallurgy, building materials and other industries, supersonic spray alloy materials are used for key parts in the valve cavity to form a high-hardness protective coating to meet the high wear resistance requirements.

(4) Quick opening and closing, low failure rate

The valve has a 90-degree angle stroke and is switched quickly. Manual, electric, pneumatic and other driving devices can be configured.

The valve also has the characteristics of simple structure, low failure rate and easy maintenance.
